2024 SEA 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball Training Camp and Competition (Jakarta)

Jakarta, 29th June 2024 – The final day of the 2024 SEA 3x3 Training Camp and Competition was filled with high-stakes action as the Singapore team fought valiantly for a 7th place finish. Held at the Fullbelly Sports Hub in Bogor, Indonesia, the finals stage saw our team push their limits in a nail-biting match against Bandung Barat.

Despite a challenging journey through the group stages, where Singapore secured just one win, the team remained determined to end the competition on a high note. Their resolve was put to the test in a tense showdown with Bandung Barat, where both teams battled fiercely, leading to a dramatic overtime.

Throughout the game, Wen Sheng, who had been instrumental in carrying the team, faced immense pressure, missing several key opportunities to seal the victory. However, the team’s resilience shone through as Farrhan stepped up in the clutch. In a decisive moment, Farrhan executed an impressive isolation play against a formidable opponent, scoring the game-winning basket and securing a hard-earned victory for Singapore.

Following the intense competition, the team had the opportunity to unwind and celebrate their efforts with a visit to The Bucketlist Indonesia, a sleek museum dedicated to basketball legends. The museum, located in Bogor, is a treasure trove of basketball history, featuring an extensive collection of shoes, jerseys, and memorabilia from iconic players like Shaquille O’Neal, Karl Malone, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, LeBron James, and more. A rotating gallery currently honors LeBron James, showcasing his jerseys from each team he’s played for, including All-Star selections. Additionally, the museum houses a special section dedicated to Michael Jordan’s legendary journey through the NBA, offering a rich visual experience for any basketball enthusiast.

This tour provided the perfect backdrop for the team to reflect on their journey in Jakarta, drawing inspiration from the greats as they continue to develop their skills and passion for the sport.
