2023 Brickland CSN Sports Fiesta

Singapore, 17th September 2023 – Amidst the vibrant neighbourhood of Chua Chu Kang GRC, the highly anticipated Brickland Sports Fiesta unfolded, bringing together community members for a day of unity, sportsmanship, and jubilant celebrations. Once again, the Wheelchair Basketball Association (WBA) showcased the spirit of inclusivity and camaraderie that sports can foster within a community.

Under the glistening sun, the Brickland Sports Fiesta kicked off, marking a day where barriers were broken and unity was the central theme. Graced by the honoroble Mr. Don Wee, the event sought to uplift spirits and encourage community bonding through a plethora of activities that catered to all.

A Showcase of Skill and Sportsmanship

The festivities were charged with enthusiasm as Suhaimi and I proudly represented WBA, engaging the community with the dynamic and exciting world of wheelchair basketball. The day witnessed Mr. Don Wee himself trying his hand at the sport, seamlessly blending with members from the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in a harmonious display of teamwork and agility. This interaction echoed the potential of sports in bridging gaps and fostering friendships.

In addition to wheelchair basketball, attendees were treated to a gamut of activities ranging from a high-spirited futsal competition to revitalizing spin sessions, zestful Zumba classes, and an electrifying e-sports competition, making sure there was something for everyone to enjoy and participate in.

Volunteers from the Residents Network played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of the event, their presence embodying the spirit of community engagement that the Fiesta aimed to promote.
